Specific electrical conductivity at standard temperature is a measure to estimate the concentration of ions in the solution and can express the purity and quality of the solution in various applications. This quantity is measured with a solution-specific electrical conductivity measuring device. The basis of this device is that by applying alternating voltage to the sensor’s reading circuit, the voltage at both ends of the electrodes and then the electric resistance of the solution are measured. The design of the electrodes and the potential difference applied to the electrodes should be done in such a way that the polarization of the solution does not cause errors in the measurement of the specific electrical conductivity of the solution. On the other hand, the device also reads the temperature of the solution and, considering the temperature correction factor, reports the specific electrical conductivity at the standard temperature. This device includes a display to display parameters of specific electrical conductivity and total dissolved solids (TDS), relay output to control the valves in the pipeline, and 4 to 20 mA electric current output to communicate with industrial controllers (PLC). Among the important indicators in oil and petrochemical industries, agriculture, food and livestock and poultry industries, water and wastewater treatment, chemical and electroplating, specific electrical conductivity and total dissolved solids (TDS) in the fluids used in these industries.
